Announcing the Tom Stoddart Award for Excellence

The Board of Trustees of the Ian Parry Scholarship is proud to announce The Tom Stoddart Award for Excellence formed in his memory.

Tom was a board member and driving force behind the Scholarship for over 30 years until his passing in November 2021. 

Chairman and Founder of the Scholarship Aidan Sullivan said “Tom was one of the most talented and respected photojournalists of his generation and he was dedicated to supporting and mentoring young emerging talent who had been recognized by the scholarship. We miss Tom terribly and feel that this award will act as both a tribute to Tom’s memory and an opportunity to continue his commitment to young photojournalists.

The award will be given annually as part of the Ian Parry Scholarship Awards and will replace the Sunday Times Award.
