Recent news from Ian Parry scholarship alumni.

Since winning in 2008 Veejay Villafranca working on the long term project ‘Marked: the gangs of Basecowhich has been exhibited in 8 countries. He is currently working on a book of the work, which will be published in 2014. His project ‘A race divided‘ produced with the help of his IPS grant has been shown in 4 countries including the Angkor Photo Festival and has also received the 2011 Sagamihara Asian photo prize in Japan.

Marcus Bleasdale has been working on a campaign multimedia piece about the LRA to raise awareness for a US intervention. He has also been working on a multimedia about Nigerian contaminated gold mines and another two multimedias on HIV and TB in Tanzania. At present, he is assigned to a long term story, which is closer to home for National Geographic.
